Little Jinder- Keep on dreaming + Remixes from Starkey, Distal, Deadboy and Graham Bond

The Swedish songbird Little Jinder returns after here amazing single 'Without You' (with production from Trouble and Bass boss Drop the Lime). 'Keep on dreaming' has a distinctly post dub-step vibe combining the singers amazing voice with a bass driven pop beat.  As if this wasn't enough the track has been remixed four times to tempt the pallet of  different musical tastes across the spectrum of electronic music. Starkey offers up his dirty dubstep version full of hard hitting bass, not to everyone's taste but then not a lot of so called 'dubstep' is these days. Distal went for the other remix route creating something very different from the original, only taking a section from the vocal and using it like another instrument in his house production.  The best offerings have to come from Deadboy and Graham Bond. Deadboy places his 2step stamp on the piece with a grime style structure through his use of claps and bass line which contrasts against an addictive violin melody and sensual piano build-ups.  Finally there is Graham Bond's house remix which takes influence from a variety of genres.  After the initial build up a selection of sexy 808s are introduced not long after the tune transforms as a sampled drum break enters and is quickly joined by a jungle style bass line.  Love the way this one cuts to a raw vocal and single instrument then morphs into a different style.

Bonebrokk- Stop thinking start acting EP (Free download)

"Stop thinking start acting" is the debut EP from Bonebrokk a 21 year old producer from Athens, Greece.  The self titled track "Stop thinking start acting" evolves from soft hypnotic tones into vast crescendoing finale, leading the listener via an entrancing sound scape.  At the other end "Running with eyes closed" has an eerie feel to it, the start of the track progresses with uniform regularity; however towards the end of the track things are are flipped on their head with crazy kicks, snare rolls and unexpected pauses.

CHST015 Sleeper- A. Zombies AA. Scanners

Some dark chestplate business from newcomer Sleeper.  Due for promo release on the 9th of January on Distance's chestplate imprint.  "Scanners" creates space with Sleepers use of reverb signifying a sense of the foreboding unknown.  "Zombies" uses chanting pads and a heavy weight bass creating something similar to the original stripped down style.  Sorry about the watermarks on the tracks but it's the only way you can listen to an almost full version.  With the purchase of chestplate vinyls you also recieve a digital release and with this one they're offering Sleeper's 'Narrow'.  What nice people www.surus.co.uk/chestplate.

Data "Making simple things complex"- New Track

"Making simple things complex" has been on the production line for the last two years.  Data has added a new track to his sound cloud "Laid bare". Data continues to complicate the simple; "Laid bare" combines snarling layered bass, beautifully melodic synth overtones and powerfully emotive vocals. The other 140bpm tracks he has proposed for "Making simple things complex" continue to demonstrate his versatility. "The Fall of Phaeton" is a really mellow track (a world away from his techy dnb); within an instant of hearing the soft claps, glitchy pads and beautiful woodwind all the troubles of your day drift away. Skream returns from a long break to his Skreamizm series; propagating his own vision of the direction of Dubstep music whilst keeping firmly in touch with the sound he mastered in his youth.
Some really sick tracks here but I only have time to mention a few.  "Indistinct" brings a middle eastern vibe, the female vocals call to mind ezan chants beckoning worshippers to prayer, whilst the contrasting digital fuzz creates a sense of old-meets-new.  "Abstruse" brings the depth, weight and spot-on percussion that has become synonymous with Skream's sound.  Dark and minimal just how we like it.
Due for release on the 12th December Volume. 6 will definitely be worth the little wait.   In the meantime here are some sample clips to keep you happy.

Distance and Benton STK

The Small Time Krooks are bringing you another night of sub-bass badness to kick-start your weekend.  Plymouth's Voodoo Lounge will play host one of scene's most influential artists: Distance.  Since the release of My Demons four years ago he has been a forefront of the genre creating tunes that provide the dirt but also include enough depth to appease the purists.
The success of his work lies in the way that he utilises percussion in contrast to mechanical sounding synths and dread bass beefiness.  The precision timing in the tweaks and beats of his production allows for the space to hear the intricate elements of his music; a sense of style that seems to be missing from the scene's current trend of producers making the loudest, most distorted, ear offending music possible.  The other worldly element of his tunes is one of his music's most appealing traits; his use of post apocalyptic voices combined with previously inaudible sounds creates a sense of terrifying suspense leaving you lost in the world of Distance on the dance floor.  Distance will be bringing the voodoo to the lounge this Friday; be prepared to be blown away by the Honey Bee Sound System as he cranks up the volume whilst lowering the tone with his eerily deep style.
If this wasn't enough STK are headlining another dj/producer rated for his creativity and profound productions: Benton.  Esteemed for his spine chilling tune Take Me Away of 2010 and his 2011 releases on N-type's Wheel And Deal label, Benton is well respected by his contemporaries and promises to provide even musical majesty as his career progresses.
Finally the STK residents will be out in force playing a massive range of styles for your audio pleasure: High T, DJC, Darko, Nakes, D-lux, MasterStatus, Ramos, Blotta, Jackart and Skeptix.  And not forgetting the Hosts: Gravity, Jman and Smallz to guide you through an evening of beats and bass.

BOXCLO10 TMSV- Myth/Flow

Myth has been doing the rounds for the last year and has been one of his most in demand dubs and is sure to appease his sound cloud following.  Myth has been one of the flagship tunes for DJ Youngsta on his Rinse FM show.  The eerie Moroccan flute flows across a backdrop of sparse percussion and low frequency bass (inaudible on my laptop speakers); 5 minutes of music that will take you a million miles from your troubles and provide you with audio bliss.  On the other side there is the equally impressive track Flow.  A more scattered beat structure yet retaining the hypnotic rolling quality of Myth; paranoid releases of piano chimes, chattering bongos combined with powerful sub bass create a prime dance-floor banger.

TMSV is one of the fresh talents of new bass music; hailing from the Netherlands and relatively new to game he began working as a DnB producer, he names Burial as being an important influence in his music and you can hear this along with his DnB background express itself through his tunes.  Check out this interview from last year on knowledge magazine's website, pretty nice mix included to http://www.kmag.co.uk/editorial/blogs/dubstep/introducing-tmsv.html.

EIO16- EVOL INTENT CRUISE CONTROL EP

I don't know when the entire EP is out but the Promo for Cruise Control/Ghost is available in all good record shops on the 29th of August or digitally now http://beatport.com/s/r1DQTf . Evol Intent never fail to bring the dark n dirty side of drum n bass music. Unless your home is somewhere under a rock then you'll probably have heard of the powerhouse that is Evol Intent. For all you rock dwellers Evol Intent are a three piece drum n bass collective from Atlanta; Knick, Gigantor and the Enemy. In the past five years they have been at the forefront of the reinvention of drum n bass, Cruise Control and Ghost don't fail to please along with the roster of tunes from their aptly named Evol Intent Recordings. With this promo the trio bring us two ear splitting drumstep tunes. Ghost kills it. You never see the switch up coming and the level of production on this tune is intense; for ever changing and evolving over the entire 5 minutes creating something aggy with depth. Cruise Control is less impressive but makes use of a classic quote from Tropic Thunder.  It's full of warp infused bass lines and mechanical pistons; the relentlessness of this tune is sure to make it a dancefloor banger (though its not to everyone's taste).
